DreamWorks has delivered some iconic animated movies over the years, including Shrek, How To Train Your Dragon and Madagascar, and a new comedy, The Bad Guys, is set to drop soon.

The movie will feature some familiar voices, including that of Sam Rockwell, who has starred in numerous acclaimed movies such as The Way, Way Back and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Also in The Bad Guys is Richard Ayoade from The IT Crowd, and Craig Robinson, who is Doug Judy, aka the Pontiac Bandit, in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

American actress, rapper, and comedian Awkwafina is set to feature too, along with comedian and podcaster Marc Maron, who was recently in GLOW, and Hamilton’s Anthony Ramos.

Check out the trailer here:

The narrative of the film focuses on a criminal crew, consisting of pickpocket and leader Mr. Wolf (Rockwell), safecracker Mr. Snake (Maron), master-of-disguise Mr. Shark (Robinson), the gang’s “muscle” Mr. Piranha (Ramos), and hacker Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina).

The gang are an experienced bunch of villains, but they are eventually caught, leading to them working out a deal to save them all from prison. And here’s the hook, in order to stay out of jail, the bad guys will go good!

Guided by a guinea pig called Professor Marmalade (Ayoade), the group set out to convince the world that they’ve been transformed. In reality though, they have no actual intention of changing their ways.

However, along the way, Mr. Wolf starts to suspect that doing good may give him what he’s always secretly longed for, acceptance.

So, when a new villain threatens the city, will Mr. Wolf persuade the rest of the gang to become… The Good Guys for real?

You can catch The Bad Guys in cinemas from 1st April.
