It’s generally accepted that a person’s wedding is one of the best days of their life. They get to tie the knot with the person they love and celebrate with their friends and family. How could it get any better than that? Well, we’ll tell you exactly how the day could get better; by Tom Hanks rocking up to join in the celebrations!

That’s exactly what happened to one newlywed couple as they got married on Santa Monica Pier in California recently. Immediately after their outdoor wedding ceremony, brides Diciembre and Tashia Farries were joined by the Hollywood A-lister, who happened to be in the area at the exact time the couple were getting married.

The star of Castaway and Toy Story watched the ceremony from afar but then couldn’t resist surprising the couple and their guests once it had finished. Wearing a grey tracksuit with shorts and trainers, the 65-year-old chatted with the newlyweds and their guests, as well as posing for photos and generally being the affable legend that he is!

Diciembre told Fox LA: “Our wedding was already a dream to me. To finally marry her, this was our day. And everybody we love was there, and… Tom Hanks just walks up! Out of all days, out of all people, he walked on the beach today.”

She added: “For us to be two women — yes it’s 2021, but it’s just unfortunately not accepted everywhere yet. But it’s like he didn’t even see that.”

On what the Oscar-winner had said to them, Tashia “He said, “I saw the ceremony from back there and it had to be one of the most beautiful ceremonies that I’ve ever seen’.”

Upon realising it was a same-sex marriage, the actor apparently said: “Oh get out! My stock just exploded!”

Tom isn’t the first big star to photobomb a wedding. A few years ago, Zach Braff, famed for Scrubs and Garden State, performed this quite magnificent photobomb.

Indeed, this recent wedding wasn’t even the first time that Tom Hanks has crashed someone’s big day. In 2016 he was jogging through Central Park in New York City when he spotted newlywed couple Elisabeth and Ryan, and posed for photos with them.

What a top man!
