Having shared the news earlier this year that he is set to become a dad, Man Of Steel Henry Cavill has taken to social media to ask for tips from other parents.

Back in April, the actor revealed that he is expecting his first child with his movie industry girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso. Now, in a sweet Father’s Day post on Instagram, he has shared an update with fans.

The Enola Holmes star posted a photo of himself in front of a wooden crib, saying that he will become a dad “soon”.

The actor, who recently quit his role as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, (to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth) wrote: “Happy Father's Day ye dads out there. Turns out I shall be joining your hallowed ranks soon! Any tips??”

He added: “And don't worry, pillows won't be in the crib when the wee one arrives, just glue and scapels so he or she can build Warhammer miniatures.”

Fans were quick to comment, with one suggesting: “Best tip I can give is to make sure you teach your kids the things you wished someone would have taught you when you were a kid.”

Another wrote: “From one dad to another, just take it all in and enjoy. There will be highs and lows. Also, mums are incredible humans. Just make sure they know that.”

Henry’s new film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, is on its way, and it’s skipping the cinema and heading straight to Prime Video.

The Guy Ritchie movie lands on the streaming platform on Thursday, 25th July, and is based on recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events.

The film is an action-comedy that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organisation formed during WWII by Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming.

The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly "ungentlemanly" fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.

Alongside Henry, who plays Gus March-Phillipps, the cast includes Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Freddie Fox and more.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will be on Prime Video from the 25th July.
