Virgin Radio regular Angela Scanlon drops another voice note into Graham Norton from behind the scenes of Strictly Come Dancing, reacting to her surprise success and topping the leaderboard.
Angela Scanlon shocked herself and the Strictly audience over the weekend, as she went straight to the top of the third week's leaderboard for her Charleston with professional partner Carlos Gu.
Her quick footwork and stunning synchronicity earned her nearly four nines from the judges, with the only hold being head judge Shirley Ballas who docked our Virgin Radio substitute a further point with an eight.
Although Angela hasn't been doing badly in the competition so far, avoiding the bottom two and the dreaded dance off, she has generally been caught in the middle of the leaderboard.
So when her performance was described by judge Anton Du Beke as 'the dance of the series so far', heads were certainly turned and Angela has now set herself up as a definite contender for the winner of the show.
Those who were watching over the weekend will have seen the aghast reaction on Angela's face but for those that may have missed it or are yet to have watched the show on catch up, we have an exclusive behind the scenes voice note from Angela, detailing her reaction to her score and routine.
Each week she has been sending weekend host Graham Norton on The Graham Norton Radio Show with Waitrose a special Whatsapp voice note, to give audiences further insight and reflection on what it is really like to be a contestant on the show.
This week, Angela was clearly a little taken a back by the circumstances and unfortunately didn't get the message to the team in time for the show and subsequent podcast but Graham was able to listen to it and share it over on our Instagram.
Here is what she had to say: "We did the Charleston. And it went really well, Craig gave me a nine and I nearly went myself. I mean, I might have actually went myself. I screamed so loudly. I mean, obviously, you could tell from our reaction that we were not expecting that. Anton said, it was the dance of the series so far, which was just insane. As I said, last night, a Bob Fosse number I was kind of unaware, I realise now that he did Cabaret, and I've seen cabaret million times but anyway, I just wasn't aware of that name. The whole like style of dance, the idea of us dancing side by side in this kind of duo, where you couldn't hide, made things quite hard. But we did it!"
