Not only has the new Barbie film been a massive hit with cinema-goers, the soundtrack has now broken records too.
When the Barbie movie came out, it was the biggest opening of the year so far, making approximately $155m (£120m) in the US across its first weekend. Not to be outdone, its soundtrack, which was released on the same day (21st July), has taken the UK charts by storm, and has made history with the most amount of songs ever in a Top Five.
After its first week in the chart, the album is the first to have three songs in the Top Five, and has also broken the record for the most songs in the Top 40, with six.
The album was produced by Mark Ronson and features songs from the likes of Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, Sam Smith and Haim.
The songs that hit the Top Five are What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish (at number three), Dance The Night Away by Dua Lipa (at number four) and Barbie World by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice (at number five).
The other three songs that made the top 40 include Speed Drive, by Charlie XCX (at number 19), Pink, by Lizzo (at number 39) and the awesome I'm Just Ken, which is sung by actor Ryan Gosling in the film (at number 25).
Whilst Gosling has wowed critics with his performance as Ken in Barbie, Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy has said he would consider a role as Ken in any potential Barbie sequel.
However, director Greta Gerwig has suggested that we may not be returning to Barbie Land anytime soon, as she has “zero” plans for sequel at this stage.
