Fans go wild for Love, Death + Robots as Netflix drops series three trailer

Visually stunning animated series Love, Death + Robots is heading back to Netflix. 

The streaming giant has just shared the first look at season three of the anthology series, and it’s clear to see why the 11-time Emmy Award-winning show is so popular with fans. 

Each episode of Love, Death + Robots focuses on a different story, and is made by different creative teams from around the world. 

The nine-episode run of series three appears to include a turbulent journey for a ship in choppy ocean waters, giant crabs, a dangerous yet beautiful voyage through space and a rat uprising on a farm.

The official synopsis reads: “Terror, imagination and beauty combine in nine new episodes which stretch from uncovering an ancient evil to a comedic apocalypse, telling startling short stories of fantasy, horror and science-fiction with trademark wit and visual invention.”

Fans went crazy for the first look online, with one person commenting via YouTube: ”They can’t stop making this show, to me it’s a master piece and it’s never boring because you never know what the next episodes visual style is going to be like.”

Another said: “This is easily, without a doubt in my mind, my favorite Netflix series. The creativity, animation, acting, visuals, all of it is marvelous,” while a third wrote: “They are some of the finest short animations ever.... I absolutely adore Love Death and Robots, best thing to come on Netflix for me”

The new series will land on Netflix on 20th May, with the first episode focusing on the popular Three Robots, who try to study post-apocalyptic human survival strategies before mankind ended for good.

Se7en director David Fincher will direct one of the episodes, called Bad Travelling, and according to Netflix, it will be a story of “mutiny, betrayal and ventriloquism.”

Their synopsis reads: “A jable shark-hunting sailing vessel is attacked by a giant crustacean whose size and intelligence is matched only by its appetite.”

Speaking of Netflix, the streaming service has announced the release date for Cobra Kai’s fifth season, and you won’t have to wait too long.

This year, Cobra Kai will be returning to the streaming platform four months earlier than originally planned on 9 September.

Love Death + Robots returns to Netflix on 20th May.
