Alan Carr is set to follow in Agatha Christie’s footsteps for a new travelogue series.

The chatty man will bring his love for the legendary crime writer to More4 in a three-part documentary which will look into her intriguing history. In the show, Alan will visit various places around the UK which have a relevance to Agatha Christie’s stories of murder and mystery.

The travel documentary, called Alan Carr’s Adventures With Agatha Christie, will see him stop off at West Country villages, as well as the coast and countryside.

Alan, who has been a massive fan of Agatha Christie since he was a kid, said to The Sun: “I genuinely can’t wait to film this series.”

He continued: “Whether it’s this year’s star-studded Hollywood remake of Death On The Nile or reruns of David Suchet’s Poirot on a lazy Sunday afternoon, I just can’t help getting drawn into Agatha Christie’s world.

“I still get just as excited as when I picked up The Murder At The Vicarage in a second-hand bookshop on a caravanning holiday in Devon all those years ago.”

Agatha Christie was an English writer who penned 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections, and is famed for creating the much-loved supersleuth characters Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.

As well as working on the new travel show, Alan Carr is also teaming up with Amanda Holden for an as-yet-unannounced TV project. Alan shared an image on his Instagram page of the first day of filming in Sicily.

“Ciao Bella!! Living la dolce,” he wrote.

Alan Carr’s Adventures With Agatha Christie airs later this year on Channel 4. An exact date has yet to be announced.
