If you’re excited about the fact that some of the original Jurassic Park characters are set to appear in the upcoming film, then you’re not alone, as Steven Spielberg reportedly got “very emotional” at the prospect.
The third part of Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World trilogy will feature three of the OG stars of Spielberg’s 1993 classic!
Yes, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill are back for Jurassic World Dominion, reprising their iconic characters from Jurassic Park.
We can’t wait and nor, by the sounds of it, can executive producer Steven Spielberg.
Director Trevorrow explained to Empire about the moment that the three actors got back together on set for the first time. “The moment everybody shows up for the first time together, they’re all packed into a Jeep, and I took a picture of it and I sent it to Steven [Spielberg]. He got very emotional.”
The director added: “I don’t think even he was prepared for how moving it would be to see all of those characters that he loves, and people that he loves, looking incredible and on an adventure together.”
The trio, who play Alan, Ellie and Ian, will join Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing. And the good news is that the original trio will play a big part in the storyline. “It was nice to have the time to make sure that every character is honoured in the way that they need to be,” the director told Empire.
Jurassic World: Dominion is set to act as a conclusion to both the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World trilogies.
The story takes place four years after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, where the world is forced to deal with invasive dinosaur species after the park’s genetically altered inhabitants were sold off to companies around the globe.
Jurassic World: Dominion will land in UK cinemas on 10th June 2022.
