With season two of Good Omens on the horizon, Michael Sheen dropped a cheeky comment about what we can expect from the show’s main angel and demon.
When the first season aired on Amazon two years ago, fans were convinced the relationship between Aziraphale (Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant) was more than platonic.
Well, Sheen has potentially just confirmed that theory.
Talking at a press release ahead of the launch of his new film, Last Train to Christmas, the actor made a comment about the highly-anticipated new series of the show.
He said: “You can expect an angel and a demon.
“And that angel will look very much like he’s in love with that demon, I can guarantee that.”
Oh yes, he went there.
That is about all he could give us though, as he admitted he would get “murdered” if he said anything else.
Good Omens is a comedy following Aziraphale, an angel and Crowley, a demon who have been living on earth for centuries after becoming quite comfortable with life there.
However, when news comes that Satan is to be born on earth and Armageddon will follow, the pair are forced to team up to sabotage it so they can carry on their lives.
The series is based on a book by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, and features the likes of Jack Whitehall and Benedict Cumberbatch.
It was also confirmed this week that John Hamm, who plays the unlikeable Archangel Gabriel, will be returning.
In a statement, writer of the show Neil Gaiman said: “Good Omens 2 just would not be the same without the astonishing Jon Hamm as Gabriel, everyone’s worst boss.
“The story that Terry Pratchett and I created all those years ago continues to take us from London’s Soho into Heaven and Hell.
“It’s a delight for me to bring back characters we loved (or hated) and bring in new characters, from the shiniest top floors of Heaven to the dankest basements of Hell, to love (or to hate, or to love to hate or hate to love). All of them are part of the strange and unusually beloved family of ‘Good Omens.’”
Sheen also stars in the new film 'The Last Train To Christmas' and recently appeared as a guest on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky on Virgin Radio, talking about his role in the movie and being a 'not-for-profit' actor.
Good Omens season 2 is currently in the works and a release date has yet to be confirmed.
