Run For The Money is the latest reality show on Netflix to capture viewer’s attention and for good reason.

If you were a fan of Hunted on Channel 4 or of Stephen King’s novel The Running Man, then this reality series will definitely be up your street.

It sees a group of 29 celebrities released into a large but contained area somewhere in Japan where they have to hide before a group of ‘hunters’ are released with the sole aim of tracking them down.

The hunters, all wearing a uniform of sunglasses, suits and face masks, must find the hiding celebrities and tag them out of the game. The last contestant standing gets to take home the cash prize.

What makes things more exciting is, the longer contestants can evade capture, the bigger the cash prize gets.

The series was initially released on Netflix last year but has only recently garnered attention from viewers, who have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the show.

One person compared it to another series on the platform and said: “Run For The Money on Netflix is the new Physical:100 even thought it came out first.”

Another wrote: “Run for the Money on Netflix is an absolute fever dream of a show and I love everything about it.”

A third also commented: Spending today watching Run for the Money on Netflix and really enjoying it. I wanna be a hunter tho 😭😭😭”.

The concept is very similar to a Stephen King novel from 1982 called The Running Man, which tells the story of a man who enters a reality TV gameshow to win money for his family.

He has the chance of winning up to one billion dollars if he can evade hunters for at least 30 days. The longer he lasts the more money he gets.

Sound familiar?

Run For The Money is now available to stream on Netflix.
