Parenting never stops, even for world-famous popstars. Westlife's Nicky Byrne is hiding in his car to talk to the Graham Norton Radio Show with Waitrose.
"I'm currently parked up the road from my house, in my car because I have three children. I can't be live talking to you Graham with people saying 'Dad, I need a cup of tea. Dad, I need boiled eggs', just five minutes' he laughs.
He's talking to Graham about the incredible show that Westlife have lined up at Wembley. Not just the arena, oh no. Wembley Stadium.
"It's been phenomenal. We got together in 1999, and we did 14 years before we split" recalls Nicky. "We were very lucky through that time that we toured right across the world. But in the UK, we did Wembley Arena over the years but never did Wembley Stadium. I don't know if we were big enough to do it or what it was, but a lot of pop bands didn't really do it."
"Now we're back and we thought, let's go for Wembley Stadium. Fingers and toes crossed! It's such an iconic place to be to play, whether it's sport or music, and we sold it out."
COVID ruined things slightly. "That changed everything, and the show didn't happen last year, and we moved it to this year. Hopefully everything continues to go well, and it went on sale yesterday."
Everyone is excited for a night out. "I keep joking that there's gonna be people at the show at Wembley, who probably don't even like Westlife. They're just there for a few beers and a night out after being locked inside for so long," laughs Nicky.
They're sure to love at least some of the songs though, after all, Westlife have so many hits. "The songs like 'World of Our Own' always goes down really well, the big ones like 'Flying Without Wings', 'You Raise Me Up', 'If I Let You Go', 'Swear It Again'. We noticed on the reunion tour, which is now two years ago, that there's nostalgia."
"The old favourite songs went down so well. People bring themselves back to where they were, whether it was school, or college or first kisses or whatever might have been, they share those moments."
Who doesn't love a trip down memory lane.
