Julia Bradbury on her TV show and the wonder of walking in Devon and Cornwall

The TV presenter and intrepid traveller Julia Bradbury joined the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky earlier to talk about the magic of having a wander in Cornwall And Devon.

With a poorly Chris Evans, our Sam Pinkham stepped in to talk to the outdoor evangelist about having the 'best job in the world'.

She said of the fascinating people she meets on the show: "I really do in this series. I think more than most we've gone out of our way to really dig deep beneath the areas that we go to and to meet some of the most interesting people that are there.

"People say to me all time I've got the best job in the world and I have got the best job in the world; I get paid to go walking. People would scratch your eyes out for that.

"We knew when we made this in between lockdowns last year that we would either still be in lockdown or that we would just be emerging from a lockdown. Either way, people would want this escapism. “So at the heart of every walk you'll notice that I'm always talking about nature, I'm always talking about the power of nature. I've talked to a lot of people who are invested in that and who really are enthusiastic about their jobs whatever they might be but it all comes back to how we all need these beautiful spaces.

“Cornwall and Devon is besieged with beautiful, beautiful spots but we don't all live in places like that so I also say throughout the series it's your own little bits of green that count as well your own local park, your own local woodland and it's something that I'm very passionate about raising awareness of.

"I think we've learned during the pandemic that we all need these green spaces and to exercise outside. It's good for our mental and physical health, but aren't we lucky to have places like this? "I've walked all around the world and all around the country, aren't we lucky to have this place where we can really benefit.”
