The actress joined the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky to talk about Palmer - a new film about a bullied young boy with gender confusion who lives with his drug addicted mum and forms an unlikely bond with former convict Timberlake.

She told Chris about working with Justin Timberlake and upcoming child star Ryder Allen: "Justin is so good in it, it’s such a beautiful performance from him. Just watching him and Ryder who plays Sam, they have this incredible chemistry on camera.

"To watch these two people playing these characters who are really encouraging each other to be the best versions of themselves is a pretty exquisite thing.

“I play Shelly who is Sam’s mother and it’s the first time I’ve played a mum on camera and I couldn’t have asked for a more exquisite son.

“Ryder was just an absolute joy the minute I met him and I think his character and his performance in this film is so inspiring and we can all learn from being comfortable in our skin and embracing who we are and not being ashamed of it in any way.

“I was so proud to work with him on the job which was a big breakout role for him and I think him and Justin were just beautiful together.

“I read the script and I was so moved by the relationship going on between these two characters and getting to play the mother of a little boy that shows such beautiful qualities of a human and playing a mother that isn't paying attention to them because of her own addiction was something that I thought would be a really difficult but good challenge.

“That was something that ultimately really moved me to do it."

Palmer is available now on Apple TV+
