Taylor Swift has unveiled the official video clip for the song Lavender Haze, which is lifted from her latest album, Midnights.

The artist teased the release of a new video yesterday (26th January), taking to social media yesterday to say: “Meet me at midnight… for the Lavender Haze music video premiere (!!!!!!!!!!!!!)”.

Sure enough, the self-directed video for Lavender Haze has now landed, and it features transgender activist and actor, Laith Ashley De La Cruz, who plays the musician’s love interest.

Once again taking to Twitter to dive deeper into the video, Taylor wrote: “The Lavender Haze video is out now. There is lots of lavender. There is lots of haze. There is my incredible costar @laith_ashley who I absolutely adored working with.”

In a follow-up tweet, she added: “This was the first video I wrote out of the 3 that have been released, and this one really helped me conceptualise the world and mood of Midnights, like a sultry sleepless 70’s fever dream. Hope you like it 😁”

In the dreamy clip, the icon is seen crawling through wildflowers in her house, dancing amid smoke in a house party and pushing away the walls of her room away to reveal a galaxy complete with swimming koi fish.

The Lavender Haze video follows clips for Anti-Hero and Bejeweled, both of which are also on Midnights, which landed last October.

In other Taylor Swift news, the superstar recently popped up unannounced at The 1975’s gig at The O2 in London, where she gave a live debut of Anti-Hero from her new album, and performed an acoustic cover of The City.

Then, this week, Lewis Capaldi joined The 1975 to cover Taylor Swift’s Love Story on stage.
