Elton John would love to make more music with Britney Spears

Elton John and Britney Spears might not have any plans at the moment to make music together again, but Variety are reporting that the Rocketman is open to a reunion.

John and Spears’ duet of 'Hold Me Closer' - a reimagined take on Elton's 1971 hit 'Tiny Dancer' - dropped on August 25th. The single marked Spears’ first release in six years.

“He would love to work more with her, and actually work in person with her, because she was in L.A. and he was in London and [that release] was recorded that way,” John’s manager and husband David Furnish told Variety writer Marc Malkin.

He continued; “It was actually my idea because we were talking about people to collaborate with. We talked and said, ‘Wouldn’t this be great to let Britney take a baby step to get her foot[ing] back, and if she wants to continue to go forward, that’s her decision to make.’ She can pick up the phone and speak to Elton about it at any time.”

In other Britney related news, the singer has shot down actress Millie Bobby Brown's muted ambition to be cast as the 'Toxic' singer in a biopic of her life.

“I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life … dude I’m not dead !!!” Britney wrote on Instagram in a caption that was otherwise about her parents.

She posted the statement a day after Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown told Drew Barrymore that she’d like to play Spears in a movie someday.

“I want to play a real person, and I think for me, it would be Britney Spears. I think her story, first of all, resonates with me,” Brown said on Barrymore’s show (People). “Just growing up in the public eye, watching her videos, watching interviews of her when she was younger. I mean, same thing with you. I see the scramble for words [in her interviews] and I don’t know her, but when I look at pictures of her, I feel like I could tell her story in the right way and hers only.”
