There’s even more great music to look forward to this month!
From the brilliant acoustics of George Ezra to the chill vibes of Vance Joy and Jack Johnson, there’s something for all music fans this June.
Here are the big musical releases coming out in June 2022:
Hot off the release of his earworm hit Green Green Grass (and a BAFTA performance to boot!) George Ezra is getting ready for the release of his third album - Gold Rush Kid.
George recently appeared on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky to discuss the inspiration behind the upcoming record, and why a failed walk from Land’s End to John o’Groats is behind it all.
He explained: “I’ve always tied records to a journey of some sort, and that’s kind of been my schtick, and then obviously we couldn’t go anywhere [in lockdown], and I was like, ‘Oh dude. What are you gonna do!?’
“I wrote and recorded the album, woke up in 2021, and they were like, 'You’ve still got to do the walk!' So, the album’s finished, but contractually, we have to get up and do this walk. So we did. We walked 1,224 miles - 95 days, it took. We camped 80 of them, we met musicians along the way and made this incredible film, where we visited musicians in the country. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy is here to chill us all out with some fresh music with his third album - In Our Own Sweet Time.
The artist is perhaps best known for his 2014 track Riptide, and his latest single, Every Side Of You, is out now.
As explained on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky, Vance said spending lockdown in Barcelona with his girlfriend inspired the gentle vibes of new track, Clarity, and the rest of his upcoming record.
In a brilliant landmark for the Rocket Man himself, Elton John is celebrating 50 years of Madman Across The Water with an anniversary reissue.
It was the singer’s fourth studio album recorded at Trident Studios in central London in February and August of 1971, featuring one of his most well-known songs, Tiny Dancer, along with Levon and Indian Summer.
The album will be reissued for fans to celebrate the big birthday, and will include 3 CD’S and a Bly-ray super deluxe box set, as well as four LP’s and a limited edition coloured vinyl with two CF formats.
Seven-time Grammy winner Alanis Morissette is ready to bring more calmness into your life.
The album will see the artist guiding listeners through 11 different meditations. The record was co-written alongside Dave Harrington (Darkside) and, as well as being available in the usual places, it will also be released on the leading mental health app, Calm.
Regarding the forthcoming album, Alanis said: “Meditating rests my interior, to the point where I can have access to ideas and visions and inspirations - I can hear my own capital - S Self.”
Soulful Jack Johnson is back with his first album in five years - Meet The Moonlight.
In a statement, the mega-selling Hawaiian artist said: “When Blake and I first got in touch, we’d send each other playlists, and over time we realised we were drawn to music that sounds effortless despite all the effort put into making it.”
Johnson continued: “After a while, we got a language together and I gained a trust in him that allowed me to let go, push outside my comfort zone, and get to a sound I really loved.”
Twelve years after her signature hit, Jar of Hearts, Christina Perri returns with her third album, A Lighter Shade of Blue.
The singer-songwriter announced the exciting record release along with her lead singer, called Mothers.
According to Celeb Mix, Christina described the new song “as an intimate love letter to all mothers everywhere to share that the different fears of motherhood are normal and that they are not in this alone”
Christina’s three-year-old daughter also gets in on the new music action, leaving her mum a sweet message in the closing moments of the track.
