Not only did Liam Gallagher drop his new studio album last week, but the former Oasis frontman is set to play his two biggest solo shows to date this weekend.

Liam’s third record, C’mon You Know, landed on May 27th and, this Friday and Saturday (3rd and 4th June) he is taking on two massive nights at Knebworth Park. The shows will mark a return to the place where Oasis played their seminal shows back in 1996.

When Liam joined the Chris Evans Breakfast Show With Sky last Friday to talk about the upcoming Knebworth shows in comparison to Oasis’ 1996 gigs there, he said: “I definitely take it a bit more serious than I did back then, you know. I guess when you're younger, you feel like you can stay up a lot more in the nights and stuff and do things- so now it's a no-brainer.”

He added: “You can't be rolling into them gigs hungover man… you can't be doing that, you've got to behave yourself the week before the gig because you'll know about it if you've not behaved.”

He added: “It’ll be a different Knebworth, but I still think it’ll be amazing.”

Whilst Liam is obviously the main attraction at the Knebworth gigs, there are a whole bunch of amazing bands that will be keeping the huge crowds entertained as they await the headline act. Here’s who will be taking to the stage over the two days...

Leicester legends Kasabian are the only of the support acts who will play on both the Friday and the Saturday. In October, they released ALYGATYR, their first single since the departure of Tom Meighan.

On Friday 3rd June, Paolo Nutini will perform. The artist will undoubtedly deliver tunes from his three hit albums.

The Scottish singer, songwriter and musician’s debut record, These Streets, peaked at number 3 on the UK Albums Chart when it was released in 2006, while its follow up three years later, Sunny Side Up, hit the top of the charts.

His most recent LP, Caustic Love, was released in 2014.

The act that you absolutely must not miss if you are heading along to the Friday show at Knebworth are Amyl and The Sniffers.

The Australian punks are vocalist Amy Taylor, drummer Bryce Wilson, guitarist Dec Martens, and bassist Fergus Romer. They are sure to deliver a thrilling, powerful set, made up of songs from their two acclaimed records.

Here’s a taste of what to expect:

Completing the Friday line-up are Pastel, who hail from Manchester.

The 5-piece guitar band cites their influences as The Stone Roses, The Charlatans and The Verve, so they should fit in very nicely with a Liam Gallagher crowd.

Check out the title track from their sophomore EP - which is set to land in September.

Moving onto Saturday 4th June, and as well as a return performance from Kasabian, fans will be able to check out a set from Michael Kiwanuka.

The award-winning singer-songwriter will be well warmed-up by the time he takes to the stage at Knebworth, as he is currently touring around the UK.

The artist’s third studio album, Kiwanuka, won the 2020 Mercury Prize. He provides the theme tune to hit Sky drama, Big Little Lies.

Also on the bill on Saturday are Fat White Family. The band from Peckham in South London have dropped three albums, the latest of which being Serfs Up!, which was released in 2019.

The band formed back in 2011.

Completing the line-up of support acts are another South London band. Post-punk act Goat Girl’s self-titled debut album was released in April 2018.

They followed it up with the sophomore record, On All Fours, last year. The album was met with acclaim from critics and listeners alike.
