It was exactly 25 years ago that Oasis played the first of their two seminal gigs at Knebworth Park. If that snippet of information makes you feel old, then you’re certainly not alone, but you can at least console yourself with the knowledge that an amazing looking documentary about the gigs is coming soon.

To mark the fact that today (August 10th) is the quarter-century anniversary of the first of the massive outdoor shows, a brand new trailer has been released for the upcoming documentary, Oasis Knebworth 1996.

The concerts were witnessed by over a quarter-of-a-million music fans from all over the world, and the new documentary film, directed by Jake Scott with Noel and Liam Gallagher as executive producers, will comprise never-before-seen archive concert and backstage footage.

There will also be interviews with the band and concert organisers. A press release for the movie says that it will be “a joyful and at times poignant cinematic celebration of one of the most iconic live concert events of the last 25 years, driven entirely by the music, and the fans’ own experiences of that monumental weekend.”

Tickets went on sale today for cinema screenings, which will happen worldwide from Thursday 23rd September. For tickets and information, visit oasisknebworth1996.com.

There will be physical formats, including a Super Deluxe Box Set, as well as replicas of the gig memorabilia from back in the day. You can pre-order here.
