Metallica played their first live performance of 2021

The metal legends played their first live show of the year at the weekend.

Of course, they played to close the show 

The band last played live for their All Within My Hands Foundation livestream back in November 2020.  The charitable lot raised an amazing $1.3 million.

As a treat for their eagle-eyed fans, the band performed in front of speaker cabinets from past tours and videos. It included art ones from the  and  tours. 

Fans hoping for new music will have to be very patient. Lars Ulrich recently said that progress on a new record was going at a "glacial pac.  Speaking to he said “These are the craziest of times and nothing is letting up. There’s a little bit of movement in that direction, but it’s hard to do a lot when we’re not together.”
