Bernie Taupin, Tom Odell and Celeste announced for charity gig The Other Songs Live - details

Celebrated songwriters Bernie Taupin, Tom Odell and Celeste are among the artists on the line-up for charity gig The Other Songs. 

The fundraising night is in partnership with the Ivors Academy and the annual Ivors Awards, and will see the likes of Gabriels, Kamille and Cian Ducrot also hit the stage. 

The Other Songs Live promises an evening of performance and storytelling, and will all be raising money for The BRIT School, The Ivors Academy Trust, and Nordoff & Robbins, who are aiming to build on the £65,000 raised in 2023. 

Al Webber, co-founder of The Other Songs, said in a statement: “We’re delighted to have such a rich combination of songwriters and artists joining us for this year’s event. It's always amazing to have audiences peer behind the curtain into the stories of some of the most legendary songs ever written, and I have no doubt we will experience more ‘I was there’ moments this time around.”

The Other Songs Live announcement comes after singer-songwriting legend Bruce Springsteen made history as the first international winner of the Ivors Fellowship Award. 

Bruce joins a very illustrious list of talented musicians to receive the Ivors Fellowship, including Sir Paul McCartney, Kate Bush CBE, Joan Armatrading CBE, and Sting, who received the award in 2023.

Speaking in a statement announcing the historic news, Bruce revealed: “I’m proud to be the first international songwriter to be recognised by The Ivors Academy. In addition to recognising my songwriting, the award stands as a tribute to the fans and friends who have supported me and my work for the last fifty years. 

“This entire country has made me feel welcome every step of the way, and for this, I will always remain deeply appreciative.”
