Justin Hawkins and The Darkness have excited fans and announced an upcoming UK and Ireland tour to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album Permission To Land.

Following on from supporting Guns N’ Roses at London’s BST Hyde Park, the band are set to rock Glasgow, Manchester, London, Dublin and more, and will perform hits including Growing On Me, Love Is Only A Feeling and I Believe In A Thing Called Love.

Frontman Justin Hawkins exclusively told virginradio.co.uk at the premiere of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars Premiere: "We probably won't start rehearsing for it until later but we've already started talking about costumes, which is the important part. So we'll be looking for inspiration tonight really for sartorial choices that we might make. [Bowie is] an absolute master.

"I think if you look through a lot of the stuff that I've worn, a few items have been directly influenced by certain areas of his career, stylistically. I'm here to be educated and I'm looking forward to finding out more."

The band wrote on social media about the tour: "You have all been very patient. We are VERY EXCITED to announce the dates for our Permission to Land 20th Anniversary UK & Ireland Tour! We can't wait to celebrate this very important birthday with you. See you all soon! Tickets go on sale Friday at 9am here."

A deluxe edition of the album is set to drop later this year, renamed Permission to Land…Again.
