Elton John has admitted he is “a little intimidated” to headline Glastonbury Festival in the summer.

The music legend will be closing out the festival this year as he takes to the Pyramid Stage on Sunday (25th June). It will be his last-ever show in his home country and wraps up the UK leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

It’s going to be a big show, but Sir Elton admitted that he “hadn’t really thought about” playing the show just yet.

Speaking to BBC London, he added: “I’m a little, not frightened, but I’m a little intimidated by it because I haven’t played there, I haven’t been there”.

If you didn’t manage to get tickets to Glastonbury this year to see Elton perform for the last time in the UK, it might not be the last chance you get to see him live.

Whilst he won’t be hitting the road again for a tour, the singer hasn’t ruled out the idea of playing the occasional gig.

Although the Rocket Man singer said: “Touring is exhausting for me now, and it takes me away from my family and my children,” fans shouldn’t despair too much, because they might still get to see him live. The singer admitted that “there may be the odd show” in the future.

This comes as Queens Of The Stone Age and Rick Astley are added to Glastonbury’s line-up, alongside Tom Grennan and Sophie Ellis-Bextor as the final line-up has been confirmed.

A mysterious unknown band called The ChurnUps have also been added to the Pyramid Stage line-up on Friday evening.

The band has no music on any streaming services, and no one seems to know who they are, so rumours have begun circulating that it could be a surprise guest- with Blur and Pulp as the favourites.
