A biopic focusing on the first four years of KISS is set to land on streaming platform Netflix next year.

News of the film first came out a couple of years ago, when Deadline reported that Netflix was “near a deal” for the film, called Shout It Out Loud, which would apparently be a Bohemian Rhapsody-style biopic. Now, the band’s manager, Doc McGhee, has given an update.

Speaking to The Rock Experience with Mike Brunn, McGhee explained that the film will finally come out in 2024. “It’s a biopic about the first four years of KISS,” he said. “We’re just starting it now. We’ve already sold it, it’s already done, we have a director,” he said, and revealed that the film will “come in ’24.”

KISS formed in New York City in 1973 and are known for anthems such as Rock and Roll All Nite and I Was Made for Lovin’ You. Their line-up comprises of Paul Stanley (vocals, rhythm guitar), Gene Simmons (vocals, bass), Ace Frehley (lead guitar, vocals), and Peter Criss (drums, vocals).

Billboard reports that singer and co-founders Stanley and Simmons are cooperating on the new film.

The iconic rockers are in the midst of their End Of The Road farewell tour, which will include their last ever UK gigs next year as part of their tour. In June and July, they will play Plymouth, Birmingham, Newcastle, London, Manchester and Glasgow.

The tour was originally planned for 2021 but ended up being postponed due to Covid.

Here are the dates that KISS will play in the UK:

3rd June 2023 — Home Park Stadium, Plymouth

6th June 2023 — Utilita Arena Newcastle, Newcastle upon Tyne

5th July 2023 — The O2, London

7th July 2023 — AO Arena, Manchester

8th July 2023 — OVO Hydro, Glasgow
