Morgan Wade at Virgin Radio, and performing live on the Stool of Rock.

Morgan Wade joined the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch to perform live on the Stool of Rock.

The country music star’s new single, Psychopath, is out this Friday, 19th May and tomorrow (16th May) she starts the UK leg of her Crossing State Lines (and Oceans!) tour in Glasgow. She will then be onto York, Liverpool, London and Bristol. “I’m feeling good,” she told Chris. “I haven't really slept. I’ve been here since Saturday, but I feel like today is the day!”

Morgan will also play the inaugural Highways Festival at London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 20th. “I’m extremely excited to go there,” she said. “That's a venue that, even back home, people know about.”

While on the Stool of Rock this morning, the artist played her hit single, Wilder Days. Watch it here:

Speaking about songwriting, Morgan told Chris: “It’s just something I always remember doing. It was the thing that I did.

“And now, I think I go through periods of time where I feel like I need to write, and then there's moments where I definitely want to write. I think it kind of depends on where I'm at.

She added: “I would say when I need to write, that's when you're gonna get the sad stuff, and when I want to write, it's gonna be a little happier.”

The musician leveraged the deal for her debut album with Sony Music Nashville by telling CEO Randy Goodman that if he bought her a dog, she’d sign the recording contract. She explained: “I was like, ‘You know what? You give me a dog, I’ll name the dog after the company’, and he was like, ‘Okay’. Now I found the dog, I texted it to him. He sent me the money and I went and got it.

“The dog's name’s Sony; a French Bulldog.”

Earlier this year Morgan embarked on a 40 date tour across the US, which was almost completely sold out. When talking about what’s coming up in the next 12 months, she said that she plans to “keep touring and get this new record out, and that she might “take a little vacation. That'd be nice.”
