WhatsApp has introduced its latest update for Apple users that allows you to multitask while being on a video call.
This new IOS feature will allow you to open other apps during your video call without disrupting it, as reported by 9to5Mac.
Users have been calling for this new update for a while, and the app began testing the feature last year.
It works in a similar way to FaceTime and Facebook Messenger’s picture-in-picture mode, as the WhatsApp video call window will shrink down to sit in front of any app users switch to during the call.
The new feature comes as part of the apps latest IOS update (version 23.3.77), which also includes the ability to add captions when sending documents, longer group subjects and description and personalized avatars that can be used as stickers and profile photos.

WhatsApp have said the new features will roll out “over the coming weeks”.
Earlier this month, WhatsApp introduced another update that allowed users to quickly reply to a status by swiping up and tapping on one of eight emojis. This is in addition to the feature that allows you to reply to a status with a text, voice note or stickers.
In a blog post, WhatsApp said: “We’re adding status reactions to provide a quick and easy way to respond to status updates from your friends and close contacts.
WhatsApp added: “We’re providing you with the flexibility to update your privacy settings so you can choose who views your status each time you update it.
“Your most recent audience selection will be saved and used as the default for your next status.”
The app will now also allow users to record and share voice messages of up to 30 seconds on WhatsApp status. Additional new features include status profile rings and link previews for visual status updates.
