Ashton Kutcher has defended his weird coffee habit, but it doesn’t make it any less gross.

The actor made his admission when appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show and the host quizzed him on his strange habits, suggesting he might be “alone” with what he adds to his coffee.

Instead of adding something nice like sugar, milk or vanilla to his coffee, Kutcher likes to mix a bit of orange juice in his brew.

It doesn’t sound the best, but the actor explained he has a preference for light roast coffee with “citrus notes” in it. He says adding orange juice gives the drink some “brightness” rather than a “burnt” taste.

He added: “If I ever have a medium roast coffee, and I’m like ‘oh I really would prefer this be a little bit more light roast’, I take just a splash- not very much- a splash of orange juice, and it brightens up the coffee and gives it a little bit of sweetness.”

If you’re thinking of giving it a go, Kutcher warns not to go “overboard” with the orange juice because that would not taste right.

It seems some viewers have been won over, as one person said: “His orange juice in the coffee sounded oddly intelligent after he explained it”.

Another said:” I could not imagine orange juice in coffee, but it sounds interesting”.

However, some viewers were not convinced with one fan writing: “Nah player, oj and coffee in one cup isn't it 😂🤢”.

Like Kutcher, if you’re a fan of strange food combinations, you’ll probably love the new Mayo Mashups from Heinz.

The three new flavours combines their classic mayonnaise with sriracha, mustard and BBQ sauce and they are currently available in ASDA stores for £3.39.
