Aldi is bringing back their sell-out Wao Mochi Balls with two new flavours after they took the internet by storm last summer.

The Japanese-inspired dessert is the supermarket’s dupe of the insanely popular Little Moons, but, unlike the former (which cost as much as £5), Wao Mochi Balls are just £3.49.

In case you haven’t had the chance to try the mochi balls or Little Moons yet, they are essential balls of ice cream coated in a tasty rice flour dough.

The Aldi version of the dessert will now come in five delicious flavours.

They will be bringing back the fan favourite of coconut as well as the vegan-friendly mango and tropical. On top of that, there will be two new flavours of Cheesecake made up of vanilla ice cream and a gooey strawberry sauce centre and Caramel, that also has a sweet surprise in the middle.

People became obsessed with Little Moons initially after they went viral on TikTok last year, with many supermarkets selling out immediately. When Aldi first launched their version of dessert in the Summer of 2021, the internet went wild again, and they sold more than 7.6 million boxes.

Wao Mochi Balls are expected to go on sale today (14 March) so, if last year is anything to go by, you better get in there quick!

The sweet dessert will be available to purchase in-store or via Click & Collect from today (14 March).

In other ice cream news, Häagen-Daz has also released a new limited-edition flavour ahead of (hopefully) warmer days with Spring around the corner.

Their new delicious combination, Honey & Peach, promises to “delight your palate, whilst delivering the silky smooth and luxurious taste.”

It will set you back around £4.95 for a 460ml tub and is sold exclusively at Waitrose. The flavour will only be available for a limited time as well, so try it while you can!
