The first trailer for Peter Pan & Wendy, the latest adaptation for JM Barrie’s classic novel, has landed.

The Disney+ film will star Jude Law as the dreaded Captain Hook, and will be directed by David Lowery, who is no stranger to reworking a classic tale, as he previously helmed the 2016 version of Pete's Dragon.

Meanwhile, Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson feature as the two titular characters in the film, which also takes inspiration from the 1953 Disney animation.

“Tell me, how did you come to Neverland,” the trailer opens.

We then see Wendy encounter the Lost Boys. “But you’re not all boys,” she says, confused.

“So?” the girls reply.

We are later introduced to Peter, and we see Tinker Bell (played by Yara Shahidi), as the trailer reveals the kind of action and excitement that we can expect from the new movie. There’s flying, sword-fighting and cannons firing.

Then, we finally get to meet Jude Law’s Captain Hook. “Where is Peter Pan?” he asks, ominously.

Also in the cast are Jim Gaffigan as Mr Smee and Alan Tudyk as George Darling.

As well as releasing the first trailer for the film, Disney+ has also shared a new poster for the movie. It shows Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson as Peter and Wendy, as well as Fantastic Beasts star Law with his iconic hooked hand. The Holiday actor is also set to enter another fantasy world later this year, as he will feature in the new Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series.

“Are you ready for an adventure?” Wendy asks in the trailer.

Yes Wendy. Yes we are!

Peter Pan & Wendy is scheduled to be released on Disney+ on 28th April.
