It feels like we’ve been waiting an absolute age for the fifth instalment of the Indiana Jones series to drop, but it’s finally set to arrive next summer. And while we wait, its director has said we can perhaps expect to see something from the upcoming film very soon.

A series of setbacks, including Harrison Ford getting injured, caused the three-year delay of the movie, but James Mangold, who is helming the new film, has now seemingly teased when we might see a trailer. When someone asked on Twitter: “When can we expect the next promotional piece for Indy 5?” the director replied: “Less than 30 days.”

If this is the case, and he was indeed referring to a trailer, then it means we might just get to see some footage from the new film before the year is out.

As for when we will get to see the actual film itself, well, it is currently slated for release on 30th June, 2023.

The upcoming film will reportedly represent Harrison Ford’s final outing as the titular action hero/palaeontologist. It will also star Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Boyd Holbrook, and Toby Jones, as well as Antonio Banderas and Olivier Richters.

Whilst not too much is known about the narrative of the film, the story will move into the 1960s.

Speaking at a D23 panel in September, Ford said: “Indiana Jones movies are about mystery and adventure, but they're also about heart. I'm really, really happy that we have a really human story to tell, as well as a movie that will kick your ass."

He also praised his co-star, Waller-Bridge, saying that she “is one of the reasons,” that the new movie is “ fantastic.”

Meanwhile, Boyd Holbrook has said that the movie is “gonna have heart”.

Let’s hope we do indeed see a new trailer soon!
