Don't Worry Darling star Florence Pugh is set to star in a new Netflix thriller.

Called The Wonder, the new film is set in 1862 in the Irish Midlands.

The new film is an adaption of a book of the same name by Emma Donoghue, which received rave reviews.

Watch the trailer below:

English Nightingale Nurse, Lib Wright, is played by Florence Pugh.

She is called to visit a devout community in Ireland and is ordered to examine an 11-year-old girl named Anna O'Donnell, played by Kíla Lord Cassidy.

The young girl says she has not eaten for four months, and says she survives only on 'manna from heaven'.

Lib and another local nurse undertake eight-hour watch shifts of Anna.

They are then required to 'present [their] separate testimony' on what they have seen.

Lib asks the healthy-looking Anna: "Are you nervous at all?"

Anna replies: "Why should I be nervous?"

Lib is determined to help Anna as her health starts to deteriorate fast.

She upsets the local religious community who believe the young girl is a religious miracle.

The locals complain it was 'a terrible mistake to bring a nurse here. An English nurse'.

It takes place 13 years after the Great Irish Famine, and is inspired by the 'fasting girl' cases in the Victorian era.

Several girls gained fame and notoriety as they said they could live without food.

The film also stars Ciarán Hinds (Harry Potter), Tom Burke (The Musketeers), Elaine Cassidy (Harper's Island), Niamh Algar (The Virtues), and Toby Jones (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom).

The Wonder will arrive in some UK cinemas on 2 November before being able to watch on Netflix on 16 November.
