US hot dog-eating pro Joey 'Jaws' Chestnut has been crowned king after winning his 15th Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest title in Coney Island, New York.
Bagging the new title, his talent boasts eating 63 hot dogs and buns in just 10 minutes, with the runner-up downing 43 dogs at the contest held by American fast food chain Nathan’s.
Chowing-down champion Chestnut arrived at the competition on crutches after sharing the news he'd suffered a ruptured tendon earlier in the year.
ESPN reported that Chestnut's 15th title has 'surpassed Rafael Nadal's 14 French Open titles for the most championships in a single event'.
They wrote on social media: "Joey Chestnut goes for history today," along with an image of him next to tennis ace Rafael Nadal.
The Frankfurter-muncher has won every title at the annual tradition since 2007 apart from 2015.
He was up against Patrick Bertoletti, who once ate 252 slices of pepperoni with cheese in six minutes, and Geoffrey Esper, who once ate 50 cheeseburgers.
Second-placed Esper said he managed 'to stay within 20, which is probably a victory of sorts'.
Fans commented: "Better than Nadal in my books."
A second added: "Legend."
A third joked: "Greatest athlete of our generation."
