It's good news for Ann Dowd, after her villainous Handmaid's Tale role.

She's received rave reviews for playing Aunt Lydia in the dystopian drama.

Now she's landed a new starring role.

As the cruel Aunt Lydia, she has become a household name and she's playing another sinister role.

Variety reports that she is set to star in 'The Undertaker's Children', playing the role of an undertaker who is forced to take in two orphans.

Unhappy about the new additions, she schemes to get rid of them.

The terrified kids come up with a plan to escape.

The project is currently in pre-production and will be looking for a distributor at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.

Alex Gayner will direct.

"The Undertaker’s Children is a commercial high concept thriller with incredible twists and turns," explained the head of sales and distribution at The Exchange, who is handling the film.

"And who better to play this mysterious, complex lead than Ann Dowd who has proven her incredible talent portraying characters ranging from the dark psyche of Handmaid's Aunt Lydia to the grief-stricken mother in Mass. Audiences are going to love this on many levels!"

The Handmaids Tale is due to come back for a fifth season, and fans are eagerly awaiting more information.

"I will say that the season itself is possibly one of the wilder rides that we've had," she said while speaking to TVLine. "Some seasons a lot happens, some seasons not as much happens. This season, I almost can't keep up."
