Phillip Schofield has been announced as co-host of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration on Sunday 15th May, along with Julie Etchingham from ITV News at Ten, and the This Morning host says it’s "an honour" to be involved with the event.

Phillip and Julie have teamed up for royal celebrations before, having hosted coverage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding back in 2011, as well as the Queen's Diamond Jubilee the following year.

Now, the duo are back to co-host the event at Windsor Castle this Sunday, 15th May. Speaking about the upcoming event, Phil said: “Every royal event I've had the fortune of being a part of has been a huge privilege, and Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee is no exception. I'm really looking forward to bringing this celebration of The Queen's 70 years of service live to the nation."

As reported by OK, Phillip continued: “Celebrating the 70-year reign of a British monarch has never happened before, so it feels incredible that we are involved in a key part of history that the British public will look back on for years to come.

“The fact the Queen acceded the throne when she was only 25 years old really is astonishing. It's a joy to be involved.”

Speaking about the quality of entertainment on display on Sunday, Phillip enthused: "There's something for everybody. Musical performances from Keala Settle, Gregory Porter, Katherine Jenkins, the Commonwealth partaking in a huge spectacle and of course, we'll be taken on a journey through history as told by some brilliant A-list names such as Dame Helen Mirren and Tom Cruise.”

Phillip also promised that he and Julie will interview some of the biggest names attached to the show too, and said: “There is so much packed in the two-and-a-half-hour spectacle that Julie and I will be gasping to take a breath!”
