If you’re looking for something to keep you entertained at the weekend, then you’ll be happy to know that Britain's Got Talent is coming back with a bang after nearly two years away due to the pandemic.

The new series premieres on Saturday evening on ITV, with judges Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, David Walliams, and Alesha Dixon returning, alongside hosts Ant and Dec. And apparently we are set to see something quite bizarre from one of the auditions.

Amanda, who has appeared on BGT since 2007, has said she had quite a strange experience which caused her to fall asleep during a live recording.

The judge has revealed how she was hypnotised by a 'phantom', and that she can hardly recall a thing about it. “We had a phantom man perform and he got me up on stage,” she told The Sun. “I’ll be honest, I can't really remember what happened.”

Amanda continued: “One minute I was on stage and then the next minute I was asleep, and Alesha was like, 'Well, you just did this', and I was like, 'No, I didn't.’”

The audition involved Amanda guessing what the other judges had picked from a box. She explained: “He obviously had control over my mind because I guessed exactly whatever Alesha picked, even though I didn’t see.”

The judge added: “I don't know how it happened or how it worked.”

Fellow host Alesha said: “I can't wait to watch that back on the TV, just to watch it again, because there was so much going on! I think that was the first ghost we've had on the show!”

Revealing how confusing it was, Alesha added: “She's saying to me, ‘No, I wasn't asleep,’ and I'm going to her, ‘Yes, you were. You were asleep.”

As reported by OK, the judge continued: "So we had this confusing conversation where she didn't know what I was talking about, I thought she was winding me up, I didn't know what was going on. To this day, I still don't know if the joke is on me or if it was genius. So we'll see!”

The new series of Britain's Got Talent premieres on ITV at 8pm on Saturday, April 16th.
