It's not a bad job being a Royal, is it? Not when you get VIP invites from Hollywood A-listers who want you to come to their movie screening. Cue Prince William and Kate Middleton who got the call from Tom Cruise recently.

The star is thought to have 'treated the couple to a private premiere' of the upcoming Top Gun sequel after finding out the pair are big fans of the original 1986 movie, along with Sophie Wessex, Princesses Eugenie, Beatrice and a few close friends.

According to The Sun, an insider said: “It’s a very unlikely movie premiere, but Tom made the offer after learning William is a fan. They happily accepted. Let’s face it, guests don’t get much more A-list!

“The rest of the cinema was shut to ensure privacy and William, Kate and a few other members of the royal family — plus a couple of very trusted friends — were the first to see it.

“Tom welcomed them and said he hoped they’d enjoy watching it as much as he’d enjoyed making it, and left them to it.

“Apparently, it was met with royal approval — not least because William has been a military pilot himself so it’s pretty close to his heart.

"It’s also a mega-bucks film with some of the most incredible stunts ever performed on camera so it lives up to the hype.”

Tom (aka Captain Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell) 'personally greeted' the royals at the screening which was held at an impressive IMAX off London's Leicester Square ahead of the film's official premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next month.

Also in the cast are Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis with Ed Harris.

We can bring the popcorn?
