A 'Line of Duty' star is set to play a young Queen Charlotte in a Bridgerton prequel.

The role has gone to India Amarteifio.

The smash-hit series has just released a second season, and last year the prequel was revealed.

As yet untitled, the show will focus on Queen Charlotte's rise to power.

The character is played by Golda Rosheuvel in the main series, produced by Shonda Rhimes.

Corey Mylchreest will star as King George.

The older version is portrayed by James Fleet in Bridgerton.

The prequel will share Charlotte and George's love story.

Fans have seen small parts of their relationship over the first two seasons.

Their marriage created a radical shift in society.

Lady Danbury made reference to these changes in the previous series.

Their union lead to the 'ton being more inclusive.

Young Charlotte is betrothed to the King of England, despite never meeting.

She isn't exactly what the royals were expecting when she arrives.

She soon learns to navigate the palace and secure her place as queen.

Original cast members are also set to appear, with Rosheuvel reprising her role.

Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell will return as Lady Agatha Danbury and Lady Violet Bridgerton.

Arsema Thomas will star as a young Lady Danbury.

Michelle Fairley will appear in the role of George's mother, Princess Augusta.

How exciting!

Fans of the show recently noticed something different about Anthony.

Golda Rosheuvel recently said she would love to share a cup of tea with the actual Queen.
