They've both come a long way!

Fans are counting down the days until the second season of Bridgerton arrives, and many have been rewatching the smash-hit

Viewers fell in love with Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dyvenor as the Duke of Hastings and Daphne Bridgerton.

It turns out that they both appeared onscreen in the BBC One school drama Waterloo Road many moons ago.

Phoebe first appeared in 2009 playing Siobhan.

She played a posh teenager who had joined the troubled school after it was merged with her upmarket private school, John Fosters.

Rege-Jean joined the series as a teacher instead of a student Guy Braxton.

He appeared in 2015, and fans are surprised now they're made the connection.

“Just finding out that both Phoebe Dynevor and Regé Jean Page were both on Waterloo Road omg this is a sign I need to rewatch that show!” wrote one.

"I just realised why I felt some familiarity towards Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page when watching them in Bridgerton. They both appeared in Waterloo Road too, G really is for growth!” said another.

“Daphne Bridgerton and The Duke were in Waterloo Road together?!” added a third fan.

This fan agreed: “Why did I only just find out both Daphne and Simon from Bridgerton were in Waterloo Road?”

Waterloo Road is due to return to screens soon in a reboot.

Sadly for fans the dashing Duke will not be returning for the second series.

The book series that Bridgerton is based on features a different sibling in each book.

Next time it's the turn of Anthony to find love.
