Love Island viewers baffled by new girl Rachel Finni's coq au vin cooking blunder

For once, the Love Island contestants have been deep in conversation about a different kind of coq (au vin). New girl Rachel Finni left fans confused after bigging up her kitchen skills, then swearing blind coq au vin is actually DUCK.  

The latest addition to the dating show was seen talking to Brad McClelland, having just entered the villa. She has the enviable job of deciding who stays or goes out of Brad or Chuggs Wallis.

But it was her cooking 'skills' rather than flirting that really captured the imagination of viewers.

The wannabe foodie went onto reveal the French dish was "duck with wine" — rather than the traditional chicken.

One viewer noted: "Can we talk about Rachel acting all entitled that Brad didn’t know what coq au vin was but she didn’t even know that it’s chicken not duck."

Another added: "The absolute confidence with which Rachel incorrectly explained what coq au vin is the energy we can only aspire to."

One fan joked: "We get it Rachel you are 29 and have been to Café Rouge before, relax with the coq au vin."

When asked about her type - aside from in the kitchen - she said: "I love the way modern relationships are.

"I don’t need a man for anything. I can buy my own home and take care of myself.

"I just love knowing I have another person there that I’m going through life with."

Especially in the kitchen.
