In case you missed it, pop legend Cher helped to save an elephant that had been dubbed the loneliest one in the world.
The good news is, Kaavan the elephant is lonely no more! He has been successfully transferred to a sanctuary in Cambodia, after a seven-hour flight from Islamabad International Airport.
Kaavan was transported to his new home at Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary in Siem Reap Province.
His rescue was arranged by the charity Four Paws after months of campaigning joined by the likes of NGO Free The Wild. Cher is the co-founder and raised global awareness of Kaavan's plight after he was suffering with loneliness in the zoo.
Cher said: “My wishes have finally come true. Together with Mark and Gina from Free the Wild we have been counting down to this moment and dreaming of it for so long and to finally see Kaavan transported out of Marghazar zoo will remain with us forever.”
Not only does Kaavan now have a new home, but he's also making friends too. A touching image shared by the charity shows Kaavan reaching out his trunk to touch another elephant for the first time in years.
It's all too much.
