Ed Sheeran appears in video in memory of MP Jo Cox

Ed Sheeran has appeared in a video created in memory of MP Jo Cox as the anniversary of her death approaches

The video promotes , an event to celebrate unity and togetherness across the UK which is inspired by Cox's legacy.

The Great Get Together

 begins on June 16, a year to the day Cox was killed following a constituency meeting in an event which shocked Britain, just a few days before the EU referendum. It runs until 18 and it is hoped that 100,000 events will take place nationwide.

Asked to name something that brings us together, Sheeran listed fish and chips. He added: "I think the things that unite us in the country are the things that are meant to tear us apart, but they actually make us stronger.”
