U2's stage designer has given fans a hint on what to expect from the upcoming tour.

To celebrate the 30-year anniversary of their fifth studio album, U2 will embark on tour, with a series of dates across the UK, Ireland, and America planned and with support from Noel Gallagher.

The Joshua Tree

was the album, released in March 1987, which shot the Irish band to superstardom.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the designer, Willie Williams, explained how the band toured with 'maximal minimalism' back in 1987 - having the least required stage elements.

He explained how they were looking to incorporate that, and mix it with the more modern elements that touring now incorporates.
