The NFL has denied reports that Lady Gaga will be banned from speaking about Donald Trump or politics during her half-time show.

During the US presidential election, the star was vocal in her support for Donald Trump's opponent Hillary Clinton. When Trump won, she took to the streets outside Trump Tower to protest.

Following her announcement that she will be performing at the half-time show, reports began to circulate the NFL would attempt to censor the recording artist by forbidding her from making statements about politics or Trump.

They have now firmly denied this, saying they wouldn't be distracted from the fact that "Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans", and they love working with her on it.

The Super Bowl airs on Sunday February 5, 23:30 GMT.
