Rick Wakeman speaks of David Bowie's influence on one-year anniversary of passing

Rick Wakemen has spoken of the great impact that David Bowie has had on the world of music - and will continue to have on future generations.

The legendary keyboard player and songwriter - who played in session for the rockstar over the course of a multifaceted and glowing career - spoke to Paul Ross on our sister station talkRADIO about Bowie while talking about his new album 

He revealed he first met the star in the late 1960s, and that they'd played in session for what would eventually turn out to be iconic album 

"He was more influential than any other artist," he told Paul Ross. "I know it sounds like a cliche, but he was more important because he incorporated all forms of art - fashion, poetry, music, words, lifestyle...

"His influence will be more felt than any other artist in the years to come than any other artist there was."

Wakeman's album includes songs he has played throughout his career - including a piano verson of Bowie's which he originally worked on in session with Bowie.
