Bakers rejoice! It’s almost time to set out the gingham tablecloth and settle down for another series of The Great British Bake Off.

The uber-popular reality competition is back to put another 12 of the nation’s best bakers to the test in signature, technical and showstopper challenges – and we can’t wait!

But who will be joining hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding and judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in the famous tent for series 15? Read on to find out…

Sumayah

19-year-old Sumayah is taking part in Bake Off while on her gap year, ahead of when she goes on to study dentistry at university. Sumayah is entirely self-taught, and enjoys researching to invent imaginative and eclectic cultural fusion bakes.

Nelly

Nelly is a 44-year-old palliative care assistant from Dorset, and a devoted mum to two young boys. Having grown up in Slovakia, Nelly likes to bring in some nostalgic Slovakian references to her bakes, which also draw some extra spice from her husband Chand’s Pakistani heritage.

Mike

Having already been shortlisted for Young Farmer of the Year 2024, 29-year-old farm manager Mike is certainly no under-achiever! Mike loves creating hearty bakes sourced from high-quality local ingredients, just as he plans on growing all the flowers for his and his fiancé Matt’s upcoming wedding on his own farm.

John

37-year-old directorate support manager John learned to bake from his nan, and now enjoys baking in his free time in her honour. John loves classic bakes, with his go-to favourite being a classic lemon tart.

Jeff

Jeff originates from the Bronx in New York, but arrived in the UK with his girlfriend (now wife) in 1979. The now Yorkshire-based baker still loves to draw on his American roots while baking, but learnt the basics from his grandmother and Hungarian great-grandmother when he was a child.

Illiyin

31-year-old Illiyin grew up in Norfolk, where she learnt to bake from her mum. A qualified midwife and published author, Illiyin’s baking is inspired by the ingredients and flavours of a wide mix of cultures and nationalities, from the Middle East to the Caribbean.

Hazel

Former nail technician Hazel loves baking for her large family, and recently impressed with her granddaughter’s carousel-themed seventh birthday cake which took her two weeks to make! The 71-year-old has a keen competitive streak, so fellow competitors beware!

Gill

53-year-old Gill is a senior category manager who believes her love of precision data and creative spirit are the recipe for a perfect baker. Gill likes baking traditional pies, cakes and pastries but with modern twists.

Georgie

Paediatric nurse Georgie credits her love of baking to her Italian roots and the days she spent cooking with her Nonna Rosa. The Welsh baker lives with her husband and three children and their ten chickens, two ducks, two dogs and a cat, so already has many fans cheering her on in the tent!

Dylan

20-year-old retail temp Dylan loves travelling, and recently returned from a gap year exploring Southeast Asia. Dylan loves experimenting with different flavours, proudly drawing on his Indian, Japanese and Belgian roots in his baking, plus all the flavours and techniques he’s also discovered while travelling the world.

Christiaan

Christiaan hails from The Netherlands, but is now a menswear designer based in London. The 33-year-old is hoping his fashion expertise will help him design beautiful and intricate bakes.

Andy

Car mechanic Andy learnt to bake with his mum, and now bakes for his partner Nickie and their daughter Maisie. The 44-year-old is hoping his time in the tent will inspire his daughter to take up baking too, while making his mum proud.

The Great British Bake Off returns Tuesday 24th September at 8pm on Channel 4 and on demand.
