Just under thirty years ago, Oasis performed at Knebworth with Cast as their support act, and John Power is ready to do it again.

After it was announced last week that Liam and Noel would be reuniting to bring Oasis back in 2025, many fans started speculating who might be supporting them across their 25-date tour.

Well, it seems Cast’s leading man, John Power, is up for doing it all over again and has thrown his hat in the ring to join the band on their long-awaited return.

When asked by Andy Peters on Virgin Radio UK asked whether he thinks he’ll be getting that call, John said: “You never know.

“I’d like to think our name’s in the hat, but as a wise person once said, ‘Don’t put your dreams in the hands of a rock and roll band’.”

He continued: “It’s funny because, normally, I would never talk about an Oasis reunion. It was kind of a taboo subject for me as someone who knows Liam and knows Noel, but now that it’s happened, it’s quite an exciting event.

“I’ve found myself daydreaming and rolling over with earworms of songs from that era.”

The musician added: “It would be great to be involved.”

Well, they would certainly be prepped to do so after accompanying Liam on the Definitely Maybe 30th Anniversary Tour earlier this year.

Despite having spent so much time with the Oasis frontman in the last few months, Power admitted he had no idea the band were getting back together, but after seeing the crowds on that tour, it was inevitable.

“Standing there every night after we’d performed and watching Liam get into Cigarettes and alcohol and the crowd going mad, I was very tempted to give Noel a text and say like, ‘You know what, man, these songs mean so much to people’”, he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, he reflected on that infamous Knebworth set in 1996 and added that he knew it was a special moment, but no one could have predicted just how important to British music history it was going to be.

He also thinks this reunion will be the same.

“I’m a seasoned performer being in The La’s and Cast, and I’ve played some massive shows, but there is an excitement I’m picking up on,” he explained. “This reunion has galvanised people and given a vibe and lift to something.”

With a new album out, Love is the Call, and tour dates set for October and November, Cast could be in the perfect position to support Oasis next year!

Cast will be on tour from 3rd October to 8th November. You can find tickets here.
