This week’s Spooning podcast sees Tim Lovejoy chat to host Mark Wogan at the recent Pub In The Park festival in Chiswick.

Speaking about his career on the telly, the Sunday Brunch co-presenter tells Mark: “I started on Soccer AM in ‘96, so, how's your maths? I've got to be pushing on nearly 30 [years].”

When the son of the late Sir Terry Wogan and owner of Homeslice Pizza asks Tim what it’s like to work alongside Simon Rimmer on their popular Sunday show, the footy nut jokes: “Oh, terrible! Shocking!”

He quickly adds, however: “No, it's alright! He knocks up a nice supper!”Mark asks: “Has he ever cooked something on the show and you've eaten it and thought ‘That is disgusting?’” to which Tim responds: “Do you know what? No, apart from a few ingredients that I don't like.”

He continues: “We've had some rogue food from chefs before. Not often, if I'm honest with you, most chefs know what they're doing!”

However, Tim remains diplomatically tight-lipped when asked who has cooked the worst food on Sunday Brunch that he’s ever eaten.

Going back to his pal Simon, Tim says: “He's got to do a lot of recipes. It's three a week, right? And he's got to think of new ideas and, genuinely, it always tastes good, unless he puts coriander in it, obviously, because that's disgusting.”

Mark tells the crowd: “I don't know if anybody knows this, but there is 10 percent of the population that have an enzyme that means coriander tastes like soap. You're one of them, aren’t you?”

“Yeah, the 10 percent,” Tim says. “It sounds good if you say just 10 percent. Special”

Later in their chat, the TV star talks about his own yoghurt creation. “I tell you what, I invented this one day, and you're all going to thank me when you try this,” he says. “This is full fat greek yoghurt, the best sort of Greek yoghurt, with crushed stem ginger."

Mark concurs. “I made this personally earlier and I ate it, and I have to agree, it is delicious,” he tells Tim.

Saying “it's a real treat,” Tim tells Mark that he has it “once a week at the moment.”

He explains: “I used to be into ice cream. And then I thought, well, I want to go for something a bit healthier. And I've been watching a lot of influencers online, and they're telling me that greek yoghurt is good for you, good protein.”
