His is one of a number of cameos in the new movie, which sees the famous R-rated merc with a mouth (Reynolds) meet his match when he is forced to pair up with X-Men legend Wolverine (Jackman) in order to save the world - and also possibly the Marvel Cinematic Universe itself.

Deadpool & Wolverine spoilers follow.
Cavill turns up in the narrative when Wade goes looking for a new Anchor Being Wolverine. As he travels across the multiverse in search of a Logan variant, a character catches his eye.
Turning around from his motorbike, with a cigar in his mouth, is a certain Man of Steel star in a Wolverine variant. He is referred to as The Cavillerine by Deadpool.
Now, the Brit has taken to Instagram to address his cameo for the first time. Sharing an image of himself in character in the movie, he wrote: “To be safe, I shaved the moustache off for this one. Just the moustache.”
This is seemingly in reference to the fact that he couldn’t shave off his moustache when reshooting Justice League, as he was required to keep it for his work on Mission: Impossible – Fallout. His lip hair had to be digitally removed it in post production.
Fans were quick to comment on the post. One wrote: “Best 10 seconds of the movie.”
Another said: “You haven’t met a role you cannot tackle. 😜👏🏻 Long live Cavillerine!”
Someone else added: “Best cameo in the movie!”
Meanwhile, Catastrophe star Rob Delaney - who reprises his role as Peter in Deadpool & Wolverine - spoke about working with Aussie heartthrob Hugh Jackman. “He's so ripped and muscular and sleeveless and often shirtless,” he said.
“He's a very nice guy, but I thought that superhero muscles in these movies were like cosmetics, not that they weren't literally on your body, but that they were more about show than strength. Not so, Hugh Jackman would routinely drop to the floor and do press ups."
Deadpool & Wolverine has clearly gone down well with MCU fans, as it’s just broken its own box office record.
The Marvel sequel has been a big success to the point that it grossed a whopping $438.3 million (£341m) worldwide in its opening weekend. This meant that it surpassed the record set by 2016’s original Deadpool movie for the biggest global debut for an R-rated movie ever.
In related news, Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy has opened up about how working on the MCU project often reminded him of his work on Stranger Things. Read about it here.
Deadpool & Wolverine is in cinemas now.
