The Crown star Emma Corrin got quite the crash course in improv while making their MCU debut in Deadpool & Wolverine.
They play the villainous Cassandra Nova in the Marvel sequel, which sees Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) team up in order to save their universes and timelines from a terrifying threat.
Keeping up Reynolds and Jackman, already famous for their frenemy bickering, felt like a mission in itself for Corrin, who discussed flexing their improv skills while at the UK Sneak Peek fan event in London yesterday (11th July).

While on the red carpet chatting to virginradio.co.uk and other press, Emma was quizzed about impromptu lines on set, and described them as “terrifying, utterly terrifying.”
The My Policeman star also discussed moving on from their role as Princess Diana in The Crown to something as over-the-top and high-octane as a Marvel movie, and they revealed that journey was “a challenge,” it was also “a real joy.”
“Unlike anything I've done before, but that was kind of the point,” they added.
Making an MCU debut almost feels like a rite of passage for actors across Hollywood, and it’s no different for Emma, who confessed their new role felt like a “huge honour.”
They shared: “It's an incredible community and legacy of storytelling to be a part of. I want to be really earnest and lame and say I think it's about friendship.”
Joining Emma on the red carpet were co-leading men Ryan and Hugh, with the former dishing on why Deadpool & Wolverine might be his most favourite project to date.
Speaking alongside Hugh at the star-studded event, the actor shared: “I don’t think I’ve been happier on a film set. I know I've never been sadder when a movie ended, and then even post-production, which just three weeks ago, we finished, we locked the picture, sound, mixing, I was so depressed.”
He added: “I also feel a sense of freedom when I'm playing Deadpool, that I just have never felt anywhere else. It's really remarkable. I love it.”
Cast members returning to the hilarious Deadpool franchise include Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) and Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio).
The official (and way more fun) synopsis for Deadpool & Wolverine reads: "The synopsis for one of the most talked-about movies of the summer reads: "Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date - Deadpool & Wolverine. A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him.
"When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier... reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to - F***. Synopses are so f****** stupid.”
Deadpool & Wolverine is out in cinemas from 25th July.
