Apple TV+ has announced when Severance will finally be returning to the office for season two.

Following the mysterious social media post yesterday (9th July) of a blinking red light and some strip lights illuminating the darkness above a familiar-looking elevator, fans were convinced that some big news would be landing today.

Why? Because the blinking light spelled out “tomorrow” in Morse code!

And fans’ suspicions were correct, as there is a massive update from the world of Severance. 

Not only has Apple TV+ shared a new teaser trailer, but they have also revealed when we can see the next instalment of the hit drama. 

“Like you never left,” the announcement reads. “Severance season 2 premieres January 17, 2025.”

A brief teaser video for the ten-episode season shows our favourite characters returning to the office, as well as giving us a glimpse of Gwendoline Christie’s new character, who cryptically says:“You should’ve left.”

Christie is known for portraying Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones.

Following the premiere of the first episode of season two, the remaining nine instalments will air weekly. 

The psychological thriller centres on employee Mark (played by Parks and Recreation’s Adam Scott), who uncovers a web of conspiracies at biotechnology corporation, Lumon Industries. The company’s employees of have undergone a medical procedure called "severance" which separates their work memories from their outside world memories. 

When they are at work, they are "innies" who can’t recall a single thing about their lives or the world outside. When outside work, they are "outies" who have no idea about what goes on in their office.

Also returning for the new series are Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, Tramell Tillman, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman and John Turturro.

Severance season 1 is available to watch on Apple TV+. “Severance season 2 premieres on 17th January, 2025.
