Trying fans are desperate for season 5 following MASSIVE cliffhanger ending

The fourth season of Trying came to a dramatic end with episode eight, which aired on Wednesday 3rd July, leaving fans wanting more.

The AppleTV+ show stars real-life couple Rafe Spall and Esther Smith as Jason and Nikki who, after struggling to conceive amid fertility struggles, end up adopting two kids. The fourth season jumped forward six years to discover that Nikki and Jason are now experienced adopters who have built a lovely nuclear family.

However, as their teenage daughter Princess (Scarlett Rayner), starts to yearn for a connection with her birth mother, Nikki and Jason find themselves confronted with the ultimate test of their parenting skills.

Whilst there is yet to be an announcement regarding whether there will more from the series, season four ended on a double cliffhanger, with (spoiler alert) Scott deciding to attempt to sail The Atlantic, having previously ditched the idea, and Princess’ birth mother turning up at Nikki and Jason’s home. 

Shocked by the finale, fans took to social media to exclaim that they want season five. One wrote: “This is simply to say that these people are my family and I need #Trying Season 5 like I need oxygen 🥺”

Another wrote: “#Trying is one of the best shows on TV and there had better be a season 5!”

Someone else added: “I’m actually lost for words right now! I didn’t expect they’d give us this kind of ending… it really made me crave for S5!”

Another fan said: “I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY GAVE US A CLIFFHANGER LIKE THAT 😭😭 now they NEED to give us season 5.”

One viewer commented: “Seriously #trying on @AppleTV is one of the best shows! Season 4 is phenomenal. Hurry up and renew for season 5. If you haven’t watched it…. Watch it!”

Whilst AppleTV+ has yet to announced whether there will be a season 5, when joining the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with webuyanycar earlier this year,  Esther Smith said: “It would be lovely to do a series five."

On making more Trying, Rafe added: "I hope so. It'd be good. I'd be happy to do this show. I love it for many reasons. I think it's good, funny."
